Creating Hope Foundation operates based on an annual initiative, decided upon by Sofia and the CHF Board of Directors.

Every year, our mission to provide hope where it’s needed changes, and so we’re building a very long list of where we’ve helped in the past. Take a look and meet a few of the organizations and special people we’ve been fortunate enough to help over the years.

YWCA of Northeastern NY - 2020

For her 8th birthday, Sofia wanted to reach out to support men, women, and children who have been displaced, disadvantaged, or otherwise in need.

With the help of all who came by for the “Suprise COVID Birthday Drive By”, which included the Montgomery County Sheriff, Jeff Smith and the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department, over 30 cars drove by on collection day, and dropped off enough supplies to make “blessing bags” for hundreds of women and children. We collected 3 cars full of items ranging from food & drinks to duffle bags so women had a place to keep their belongings.

Thank you to Sofia and all who donated to her efforts. She truly is a young woman on a mission and we are so grateful!

We received donations from all over the country! These boxes were cases of travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soaps!

Sofia came to her parents about a month before her 7th birthday and asked if she could ask people to bring supplies for animals since she “has enough toys and doesn’t need anything”. So on the invitations to her party, she specifically asked for dog and cat supplies (food, toys, and treats) in lieu of gifts.

This was the year that started it all!

Shortly after her birthday, Sofia also had her hair cut and donated to have wigs made for children with cancer (this theme would similarly repeat itself in a slightly different way in 2021).
